This Han Solo action figure is based on early concept drafts done by famous star wars artist Ralph McQuarrie. The figure was released in 2007 in celebration of the 30th anniversary of the original Star Wars movie. The McQuarrie Han Solo has a holster where the blaster fits in nicely, it has some sort of open side-clip on the belt where the lightsaber hilt can be attached to, and it came with a removable hard-plastic cloak and a bluish, translucent lightsaber. The figure is very nicely detailed, it has a clean paint application and makes an overall fantastic impression. Hasbro gave Han a wider stance, which helps make him stand safer without the help of a stand. This is quite helpful because Solo doesn't have any joints in his ankles so that you could reposition his feet if he doesn't stand safely. The figure holds the lightsaber and the blaster very tightly, and the saber hilt fits well into the belt-clip. Overall it makes a great addition to your collection, and it's a fantastic nod on Hasbro's part to honor Ralp McQuarrie and celebrate his art.
McQuarrie's concept painting of central characters in A New Hope depicts Han Solo as a fierce Jedi Knight rather than a roguish smuggler. Wearing close-fitting battle gear, he is ready for combat with his lightsaber blazing and his face set with stern determination.
