Tie Fighter Pilot Major Mianda "Scythe One" was available in a Toys'R'Us exclusive 4-pack titled "Battle Over Endor", and was released in January 2011 in the Shadow Of The Dark Side Collection. The set included Major Mianda, B-Wing pilot Palso Thern, X-Wing pilot Grizz Frix and his astromech droid R2-T7. Major Mianda can be seen very briefly in The Return Of The Jedi, when the Rebels and some Imperials fly into the 2nd Death Star.

The figure is basically a re-release of The Legacy Collection Tie Fighter Pilot, with very minor color alterations on the helmet and the face, and a different blaster. The pilot was given 12 points of articulation, with ball-joints in the neck, shoulders, elbows and knees. The forearms, the waist and both legs were given swivel joints. The ankles on this figure are not articulated, but it keeps the balance somewhat OK nonetheless. Hasbro included a generic imperial blaster and a Tie Fighter pilot helmet with attached chestbox with the figure. The blaster fits well into the holster, and into both hands. The helmet fits also quite well over the head, and the chest box plugs in nicely into the hole in the chest. Just like in our review from September 2009, we still feel that the two belts on the figure need to be fixed, and that it doesn't look good on display when the figure doesn't wear the helmet, because there is a hole in the chest. Maybe a work-around this issue would be to include a removable chest-plate, one the figure can wear when the helmet is off, and one that can be put on when the helmet is on the figure.

The paint application on Mianda is done OK. The pilot suit is kept in a black, non-glossy tone, while the armor pieces are kept in a glossy black. Aesthetically, Mianda looks good with the helmet on, but if you are not army building Tie Fighter Pilots, and you already own The Legacy Collection pilot, you can pass on this release.

Bravery. Skill. Loyalty. These are defining characteristics of the starfighter pilots on both sides of the conflict at the Battle Of Endor. Whether they are Rebels or Imperials, these elite pilots are all focused on the same goal: victory. They are deeply aware that they are deciding the future of the galaxy, and will do everything they can to complete their mission.

Take your figure and find the date stamp on it (look on the back of the thighs, bottom of the feet etc...)
If you can't find a year printed on the figure check if it has a 5 digit number printed on it, enter it below and we'll pull up all the figures in the database which has the same number.
