Hasbro launched the Clone Wars toy line based on the animated Clone Wars TV show on July 26th 2008. Every figure in this series was kept in an animated-style to capture the character likeness from the TV show. The toy line featured nicely sculpted and even highly articulated figures, but it lacked variety with only a handful of aliens and droids mixed-in with human characters. It also didn't help that main characters such as Ahsoka Tano, Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi very rarely changed their outfits in the TV show. Clone Wars toys based on the cartoon were released for about five years before the toy line ended in Spring 2013.
